Kontias Stone Residences

Guesthouses ”Kontias” complex nestling in the core of the beautifully preserved traditional stone village of Kondias, Limnos. The main stone building that hosts three of our apartments (Jason, Anthoula and Victor)is a two story stone residence said to have bought to serve the purpose of a summer house in 1820 by a wealthy Lemnian who resided in Alexandria, Egypt.  For almost two centuries it was passed down from one daughter to another from generation to generation.

The rest of our traditional residences have followed similar routes during the past two centuries, but each one with its own distinctive characteristic. One is able to read a framed dowry document dated in 1890. It is a literary script written by a mother who donates her house to her daughter Melpomeni as a token of heartful wishes for prosperity and childbearing in her marriage.

All residences were respectfully restored in order to maintain their original Aegean sea architecture. That of the traditional style interlarded with all the modern comforts. The result is the reflection of  humble luxury in an authentic atmosphere that upgrades hospitality into an accommodation experience.
